Project Manager

Mzinga, the leading provider of business social media solutions that drive growth, innovation, and learning, seeks a project manager who will be responsible for managing multiple and simultaneous client implementations of a web-based social media software application. The project manager coordinates and prioritizes resources across projects, departments, and entities and is responsible for the overall success of client implementations.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Manage, drive, and document the timely completion and management of deliverables for multiple projects simultaneously
  • Manage expectations and provide scope-of-effort estimates (time, cost, etc.)
  • Manage client interaction as a single point of contact to both the client and the company's personnel
  • Report progress of project goals, schedule, and budget accurately and timely; escalate exceptions quickly and appropriately
  • Define the project's business objectives and goals, deliverables, assumptions, constraints, etc.
  • Develop cost estimates, cost-benefit analysis, risk mitigation strategies
  • Author technical specifications, including envisioned usage cases, client scenarios, and prioritized requirements lists
  • Assist clients in linking their registration systems with Mzinga’s application using established API
  • Assists designer in UI and branding requirements using XSL and HTML style sheets
  • Ensures that application systems development methodology and process is used effectively across all projects
  • Monitor overall and project specific resource usage.
  • Provide support to Sales Executives for new client initiatives

Qualifications required

  • 5+ years of web development and/or software consulting and/or program/project management experience in software applications and/or application implementation
  • Exceptional leadership, people management, interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills - both oral and written
  • Proven ability to comfortably present to and interact with clients at all levels in a positive and responsive manner
  • Ability to author technical specifications, including envisioned usage cases, client scenarios, and prioritized requirements lists
  • Demonstrated track record of successfully planning and managing larger-scale engagements through all stages of the program life cycle
  • Experience and comfort working in a fast-paced environment
  • Self-starter with and the ability to multi-task and perform problem identification, analysis and problem solving
  • Proficient in MS Office tools, including MS Project, and well-versed in email etiquette
  • Ability and comfort presenting to and communicating with clients at all levels
  • BS/BA or equivalent experience
  • Available and willing to travel 25%-50%
  • Familiarity in Web Services, internet protocols (http, html, CSS, SOAP, RSS, Jabber, IRC) as well as database and network concepts
  • Intermediate knowledge of C#, HTML, CSS, DHTML, XML, JavaScript, and programming concepts
  • e-learning, social media and content management system experience a plus
