C20 Conversations - Charlene Li
Booking (and connecting for) podcasts can be hit or miss and creativity in scheduling is often rewarded. My colleague Aaron connected with Charlene on the phone several days before the Community 2.0 conference and found out she would only be in Las Vegas for 12 hours. She planned to arrive at midnight on Monday and would leave immediately following her keynote the next morning. Thinking on his feet, Aaron suggested we could pick her up at the airport and have a conversation on the ride to the hotel. Charlene agreed and what follows is the transcript of that conversation, including the sound of a laboring limo, a courteous driver stopping to try to buy a bottle opener (unsuccessful) and terrific insights from the co-author of Groundswell (along with colleague Josh Bernoff). I loved the fact that the limo driver took matters into his own hands when we tried to open the Sierra Nevada and couldn't find an opener. He actually pulled over at a convenience store during the interview and came back apologizing for coming up empty. You can hear a door opening and closing and Aaron saying "no problem" during the interview. ;-) <br> Jim | @jstorerj
Tom - it was a lot of fun. A VERY late night (we flew out that day from Boston - the interview with Charlene took place at 12:30 AM PT (so it was 3:30 AM our time). Charlene was a peach though and a true sport for playing along. ------ Aaron Strout | @astrout
Aaron and Jim - great podcast and kudos on the creativity for turning a limo ride into a podcast. The sound quality was pretty good (better than some of the SXSW podcasts). Thanks for sharing! Tom Humbarger, Catalyze Community Manager
